I’ve just changed from a really bad hoster (Fasthosts) to Startlogic. I am very impressed with StartLogic indeed. The speed my pages now load is very fast, and the pages always load up perfectly every time (a couple of my big 40kb pages now load very quick, error free). The best thing is that StartLogic is Ό of the price of my previous hosting company. The StartLogic control panel (Vdeck) seems a bit basic but it does the job fine without any problems, and the best thing is I don’t need to add a port to my firewall (another hosting company I tried [Mochahost] asked me to allow Mochahost to connect to my computer via a firewall port for control panel access). StartLogic offers unlimited data storage and bandwidth at a very reasonable price, and this combined with reliable uptime and quick page loading has left me feeling very impressed! The ‘live’ customer support was very quick and resolved my questions easily. I can’t understand why some people have written bad reviews.

I am happy with the service, after the initial start up problems from my part i get instant assistance on all the occassions and the help crew was able to resolve my mistakes and helped me to solve the problems i created. I am using my own web development software now and had no problem uploading it. I never fully get their web design program, or how its works. I find the site reliable and good value...

I'm one of StartLogic's customers from their beginning. I have to say up front that I'm on a shared server, a "little" user, one of StartLogic's cheapest plans, (that's my choice). I'm not a web designer, one little website and if Front Page can't do it, I can't either. But, initial setup was VERY easy, fast and painless. Was some problems initially with their servers, (years ago), but that was straightened out VERY well and I've watched StartLogic grow, (as my one little website has), and become even better. In fact, I think that the value and service they provide was the ONLY reason that I've been able to get on, and remain on, the internet. I've recommended StartLogic to many friends and associates and have had great feedback from them as well. Their new V-Deck web administration tools are easy enough, even for me to use and understand. MANY upgrades (behind the scenes).They've upgraded to a new webmail program that's on par with any "out there". They have everything to get a novice webmaster up and running in no time, including excellent databases built in, (3 free, even with my "cheap" account). Plenty of "nice" stuff available to administrate/promote/enhance your website, WELL worth what you pay. Only "problems" have been/are, night phone tech support, almost never can get any, (day time seems a LOT better). Have waited a few times for hours on phone, with music droning on and on in my ear, and I'm STILL waiting for them to answer. That seems to be a little better lately, (trying to upgrade my PHP databases, e-mail). 90% of my calls to tech support have been for something that I don't know enough about to do correctly, not StartLogic problems. They DO hang right in there with you to get "it" fixed, (unless it's their databases). Don't offer tech support for their default databases, (not that anyone else does either, but it's important for a novice like myself, I would appreciate that), SQL server problems early on but that seems to be fixed now. Overall, the server speed seems to be average, (but again, in all fairness, I'm on a shared server and would have better speed with an enhanced account), but it's very adequate for my website. Whole experince is VERY new webmaster friendly. Up time is EXCELLENT. Tech support is pretty good when you DO get someone, (I hate email/forum tech support), but I've seen their new support forums and they seem to be well done, lots of headings for different areas of help. Have always been friendly and helpful when you reach someone. Bottom line, I doubt that there's many web servers who can beat StartLogic for "bang for your buck". NObody's perfect, but it seems like StartLogic is actually always trying to make it better. I'm gonna hang in there, for sure. Nope, I've never been at a StartLogic company picnic, just tellin' the truth. You can check out my little website if ya care to, RacingStudebakers dot com, see for yourself......

I started with Startlogic so I can't compare them to others. I've been using Startlogic for two years and I have 4 sites with them now. I've had few problems and when I have needed to contact them I was able to get my issues resolved. Only problem is that the last time I signed up a new plan they overcharged me and wouldn't refund the difference. I had the overcharge reversed by the credit card company but now I'm not sure if I want to contunie with them or go to another company.

I am pleased with Start Logic. When my site was down for 55 minutes one day, I filed a support ticket telling them that to meet their 99.9% uptime guarantee the site can't be down more than 43.2 minutes in a month. Although the tone of the response seemed slightly angry, I got a month credited to my account. Billing and domain issues are resolved well; however technical issues usually get the "we're working on it" response. Although the support isn't the best around, Start Logic is good for the price.

I was with them through their transition/upgrade period and service on all levels was poor. Today they are a good hosting company. I left and went with GoDaddy because I needed SSH (yes SSH, not SSL) which they didn't support. GoDaddy has turned out to be my worst nightmare. When you are #1 you no longer care about losing customers, there is another to fill the space promptly. Slow servers that time out, tech support that knows nothing and hype is GoDaddy IMO. I no loger need SSH so I will return to StartLogic to host my ecom site which has been down for over 18 hours at this writting. GoDaddy tech support placed a ticket for me which is sitting in a "Que." There is nothing I can do but wait, lose visitors, money and sleep!

I've been with Startlogic for over two years now and am very pleased with their performance, their servers have only gone offline twice and both times were restored in less than 30 minutes.

Have any of your seen the Abbott and Costello comedy routine - "Who's on first?" If so, you have an inkling of my interactions with Startlogic, both in billing and tech support. After being incorrectly billed for a Canadian domain that I could not possibly sign up for, since I'm an American and have no business interests in Canada, I did manage to get my money back for that. Now I'm hoping that they will honor their "money-back guarantee" and I'll see those funds as well. I've moved the domain name they did manage to register for me correctly to another hosting company which has proven to be 1,000 times more attentive and helpful in only a few days.

I have been stay at Startlogic for a few month, i suppose this is the best hosting regarding speed as long as the support team. Extremely fast hosting and great support. However this hosting have a bit problem with mysql database but they fix it quickly after.

I have a fun site with this host, which requires ASP and ODBC for MS Access. This was, by far, the least expensive host that had the features and space I needed. So far, I haven't been disappointed. Setup was prompt and without problems. I registered my domain name through a third party, so I can't speak for how well StartLogic's domain registration worked. They send an email with all login information and a test site URL, so that you can transfer domain names at a later time. ASP pages render quickly and correctly, and database access (once you remove the read-only flag in the file manager) is without problems. One note though - according to their site, they provide access for MySQL and MS Access - NOT MS SQL Server. If you ever think you might upgrade from Access to SQL Server, I don't know that it can be done with this host. Their control panel is a bit confusing and some of the features are hidden in places you wouldn't expect to find them. This could definitely be improved upon. During my one tech-support call, the support person was helpful and knowledgeable, but not very professional. That is, when I gave him my URL so that he could look at my account information, and I told him the URL of the fun site I have with them, he laughed. Which is fine - the URL *is* funny - but he continued to laugh for about a minute. And from that point, I got the impression that he was talking down to me - but then, I get that impression most of the time I talk to tech support people. He WAS helpful, though, and my request, IIRC, did get resolved promptly. All in all, really good value for a web host, if you need ASP and low-level database access, but don't need a whole lot else.

After signing up site was online within 24 hours. Easy to update with decent stats. Customer service response via email within 24 hours. Had some issues with being blocked sending emails to AOL addresses but it was resolved within 48 hours. Now that we are stable after 3 months no problems encountered since out second week of operation. Very happy with StartLogic.

It took nearly 2 months to move web site over to Starlogic,I would not recommend them,I been with them almost 1 Year. The Site Web site Builder is no good. Once I had web site up running it was fine. But overall 2/10, Not Recomended...
