ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!

As I submitted my ticket from Dubai, I knew it was the middle of the night in US, so to get an answer back within a few minutes was a most unexpected pleasant surprise. As a newbie, then to have this response is marvellous, & enables me to move forward again so fuelling my enthusiasm. It also helped to have the problem centrally resolved, rather than have some complex instructions (although I realise I also have to learn how to eventually do myself!).

Site5 have hosted my website accounts since 2007. They have kept their promise and fixed any and all problems caused server-side without making excuses and have always replied with helpful support even when the problem was mine. I am very satisfied with server uptime and customer support and have no plan to move. My only negative observation is that reseller packages frequently changed in their offerings and currently do not allow over-selling at my own discretion.

MIXED REVIEW

I have mixed reviews about Site5. I signed up for them because they offer cheap hosting service with a good admin tool and 27/7 support. Sounds pretty good, right? Well, I sort of think of this as buying a cheap car which runs well, but only holds a half gallon of gas. It's functional, but you will have many inconveniences.

I strongly do NOT recommend this service for developers. Web programming is tough, and Site5 will add more hurdles to your venture. They have 24/7 support, which is good. However, you will need this support a lot. And yes, I mean a LOT! I've contacted them for many reasons - things not working, their admin tool not working the way it's supposed to, password mixups, affiliate program problems, IP address getting blocked every day. Yes, it's problem heavy... even things you wouldn't expect to break. For example, they prepared my server space. I immediately had problems becuase they didn't set a variable. It took me about an hour of talking with them to get it fixed... something that shouldn't have been a problem in the first place. They are usually quick to fix the problems they do have. Sometimes I emailed them about problems and I had to bug them for two or three weeks before they looked into it. That made me angry. For some reason, some Site5 accounts only worked with certain FTP clients. I don't know why. I created a site for a client and, after speaking with Site5 staff, learned that I could only access it through FileZilla, not WinSCP.

However, for clients, the service is good! All the client wants is a site that works, shows stats, has some emails that they can easily manage, and is cheap. This gives them all that. The client should like the 24/7 service as well. The developer has to go through a lot of problems to get the site working properly, but the client just deals with the site after the fact. Therefore, it's good for them.

I would recommend this service only to clients, not other developers.

Also, there's something I don't understand. Site5 was titled such because they offered $5 / month hosting, correct? At least this is the impression I got out of it. Well, it used to be the case. It doesn't seem like you can get this good of a deal any more. It seems like their lowest possible rate now, without discounts, is about $7.50 / month.

Again, having Site5 is like having a good car with half a tank of gas. You'll need to fill up all the time. Even small trips to the store can be cumbersome. You'll need to contact support for problems that shouldn't have occurred in the first place, and there are a bunch of inconveneiences, such as a not-so-intuitive interface which requires the memorization of many passwords in order to operate to its full potential. On another note, their site in general is not as user-friendly as it should be. They seem to move elements frequently and arrange their interface in a strange way. Also, they tend to use an overabundance of DHTML, which causes much cross-browser incompatability and, in my opinion, makes the interface more difficult to use.

SITE5 NOW FOR 6 YEAR

I have been using Site5 now for maybe 6 years or more. Now you don't stay with a company that long if they are not any good. Compared to the company I used before they are top of the mountain. Have no reason to look anywhere else as they tick all the boxes. Quality, costs and very helpful support. Site5 keep doing what your doing I'm happy.

A ROCKING WEBHOST

Site5 is a rocking webhost, i am with them for last 5years and never had to look for another host. Last year, wanted to upgrade the account, they just did it smoothly. No data loss. Support is also excellent, less than 15min response. Overall, i give them 99.9/100 :)

RESELLER HOSTING

I have been working with Site5 for over one year as a reseller and they provide great quality support especially one particular time when Wordpress 2.8.1 was defaced (hacked) and gained control by the hacker. I sense the urgency and responsibility given by the support team member. Two thumbs up to Site5!

I am a happy site5 customer and have been with them for more than 4 years now. I never had any performance or uptime issues with Site5 and they always did better than what they promised.

I had seen a lot of my friends having tons of problems with their hosts and each time i was happy that i am with site5.

Site5 customer service is the best i have ever seen. Even on an early Sunday morning there is someone at site5 to solve and answer to your emails in less than a minute!

Looks like Site5 will get into the books of Guinness world records for the best hosting service of the decade.

Site5 server performance and hosting packages are miles ahead of the nearest competition. Its a real value for your money.

WOW! THESE GUYS ARE GOOD!

i have tried 4 webhosting companies now - one in UK, one in Nigeria, and two others in USA, and with the short time i have spent with site5, i am sure they Ok. i am particularly impressed about the way they respond to customer's request - even on Sundays!

Having paid $500 a year at Media Temple for a Virtual Server, and now only paying $175 after promitions for a year of reseller hosting at Site5, I must say the support is unbelievably better at Site5. CUSTOMER SINCE 2007

I have been a customer since 2007. I love Site5's backend interface. I am a web developer and I can get access to my clients area without knowing any of their passwords (after they authorize me to do so, of course).
This makes managing clients and their sites dead simple. And this is on shared hosting not reseller, which gives my clients the ability to choose their own plans.
